Want to fundraise for a creative project but not sure where to start?
The Artist as Fundraiser is a free 2-hour fundraising workshop that is ideal for artists and creatives looking to boost their knowledge, skills, and confidence to strategically build supporter relationships and increase income through donations.
Join presenter Hannah Kothe, State Manager Development and Partnerships (SA/NT), Creative Australia, for an engaging workshop exploring how to attract money from non-government sources through philanthropy and partnerships. You’ll leave with practical tools, strategies and insights you can put into action straight away!
This interactive workshop will cover:
- Planning your fundraising campaign (individual donations)
- Building your case for support
- Mapping your network and prospects
- Cultivating relationships, making the ask, stewarding supporters
- Using the Australian Cultural Fund (ACF) donations platform
- Support provided as part of Creative Australia’s fundraising programs and services
This workshop is suitable for independent artists and producers, small collectives and sole traders, and is open to Helpmann Academy eligible artists and participants in the Creative Innovator Program.

ABOUT HANNAH KOTHE
Hannah is a strategist, writer and advocate for arts, culture and creativity. She spent 10 years in Central Australia supporting First Nations artists, writers and artist-owned art centres to develop and deliver creative projects, grow their businesses and sustain cultural practice. Trained in art history, she has also held leadership and curatorial roles across art galleries, museums and collections. Her writing has been published nationally, and she served on the boards of Art Monthly and the Australian Ceramics Association.
As State Manager Development and Partnerships (SA / NT) at Creative Australia, Hannah supports the development and rollout of national programs that strengthen fundraising capability across the arts and cultural sector. Her work spans coaching and advisory services, professional development workshops, resource creation and community-building initiatives, empowering artists and organisations to diversify income sources and build sustainable careers.
